my LTTE to NYT re Edmund Morris op/ed today

Edmund Morris mis-states Cindy Sheehan's purpose when he writes "Cindy Sheehan's attempt to have President Bush tell her - again - how sorry he is about the death of her son in Iraq is escalating into a protest more political than personal."

She is not asking for Presidential sympathy, she is demanding Presidential honesty. She decided to go to Crawford when Mr. Bush said that those killed in iraq died for a "noble cause." She has simply, and repeatedly, said she wants him to tell her face to face what her son died for, now that all of his rationales for the war have evaporated.
