What would your best analogy be, for the invading of Iraq and the lies....

about the connection to 9-11, that right-wing talk radio, television news, the defense department, etc., keep trying to shove down our throats, day in and day out?

The lie that Iraq was somehow involved in 9-11. Which even Bush & Cheney are on record, stating there was NO connection!!!

I just heard Thom Hartmann's analogy...

"It's like, after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, and then we decide to invade Brazil instead."

What would your analogy be, so as to get through to all the pea brains out there who are being fed this bullshit daily and are believing it? ("Get A Brain! Moran")???

1. I remember thinking at one point...

...that it was as if after Sept.11 we decided to invade Cuba. The thing is that later it was reported that John Bolton was actually going around claiming that Cuba was developing a biological weapons program. As stupid as it would have been to invade Cuba in response to 9/11 it seems that this was actually a possibility in some damned fool's mind.

4. Maybe bringing it closer to home is necessary...
... your neighbor to your left breaks into your house and steals something. You know that the neighbor on the left did it, but you retaliate by breaking into the house of your neighbor on the right of you, because you've never liked your neighbor on your right.

Something like that.

6. Before the invasion/occupation, ah, I mean "liberation"
I was saying that the misadministration was acting as though they were going to convert Iraq into Switzerland when in essense, we would end up turning a country with more PHD's per capita in the cradle of civilization into Afghanistan, and turn our economy into that of Argentina in the process.

Mission accomplished indeed.
