Christian Wire Services: **EVERYONE** is born STRAIGHT!
To: National Desk

Contact: Amanda Sova, Stephen Bennett Ministries Media Director, 203-926-6960, SBM Media Relations

HUNTINGTON, CT, Aug. 17 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Stephen Bennett, Executive Director and Founder of SBM, Inc. lived as an openly "gay" man for 11 years - that is until he went "straight."

Sexuality active with well over 100 male partners - many whom are dead today from AIDS - Bennett was also involved in a long term relationship with another man.

In 1992, he left it all for his wife today - Irene - of 12 years. The Bennett's are the proud parents of two little children - a boy and a girl.

Bennett no longer struggles with homosexuality whatsoever and is completely heterosexual - the way he was born.:eyes:

The Washington Post released a one-sided article on Tuesday saying "people who are 'homosexual' CANNOT CHANGE."

"This article is nothing but a 'hatchet job,' one-sided and is simply an OUTRIGHT lie," said Stephen.<--Stephen

Stephen Bennett and his wife Irene are national speakers on the issue of helping men and women overcome their unwanted homosexuality. They travel worldwide and have been doing so full time for the last five years.

When called upon, Stephen frequently speaks on behalf of The American Family Association and Concerned Women for America. Stephen is the Special Issues Editor on Homosexuality for The American Family Association.

Stephen is authoring his first book, "I Was Gay" to be released in early 2006 by a national publisher.:boring:

Stephen and Irene have appeared on numerous broadcasts including The O'Reilly Factor, CNN, World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer, The Today Show, CBS' Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, FOX NEWS Live, At Large with Geraldo Rivera, The PAX Network, Billy Graham, The 700 Club and many more.

Stephen and his wife Irene are available for interviews to "counter" this slanted Washington Post article.:woohoo:

Bennett ended, "No one is born 'gay' and COMPLETE change is COMPLETELY possible."

The Washington Post article can be read in its entirety at SBM's Blog: http://www.sbministries.org/blog/

is do they know they were really gay in the first place? How do they know they weren't just curious or bi-sexual?

I always think it's hilarious when quacks scream for equal time. This guy is reading from the creationist handbook.

I wonder if his wife knows about his late night internet exploration :-)

Or "pimping", I suppose.

The American Family Association - check

Concerned Women for America - check

Requisite appearance on hatemonger Pat Robertson's "700 Club" - check

Idiotic horseshit.

4. Wonder what they'd say about this then?
http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/08/12/thou_art_no_romeo/

Thou art no Romeo
Famed swan couple is all-female

Quote:
Boston's beloved pair of swans -- feted by city leaders, residents, and tourists alike as one of the Hub's most celebrated summer attractions -- are a same-sex couple. Yes, scientific tests have shown that the pair, named Romeo and Juliet, are really Juliet and Juliet.

You go, girls. Love openly in the pond.

I love this quote from the swan story: ''If these two swans are happy together, they shouldn't have to have a guy," said Emma Stokien, a 15-year-old from New York. ''It's good to have the swans as a symbol of the acceptance in Massachusetts."

7. I guess there's straight for pay
becuase I couldn't help but notice this line...."Stephen frequently speaks on behalf of The American Family Association and Concerned Women for America. Stephen is the Special Issues Editor on Homosexuality for The American Family Association. "

And I am sure he makes a tidy sum of cash doing that as well.

Fact is the Theo-Cons can't pull out any long term "Ex-Gay" who isn't also making his living off of being "ex-gay".

I hope some of those hard earned dollars are going to help his illiterate 'pimpers' learn how to write and punctuate. Maybe that will help make them Ex-Stupid, but not likely.

My mom took male hormones to dry up her breasts after my sister was done nursing.. and I was exposed to it early on in my development..and I was born transgender.I'
m biologically female but I do not identify as that~I never did. So go figure and with all the hormone disruptor's in water, in plastic in the environment in general I think humanity is in deep denial about how chemical tinkering and pollution effects us all,I think the "Christians" are so full of shit everything they say stinks. People are who they are and the god these hateful people worship is hateful and controlling and deluded as they are,a monster a criminal a creep a fascist abusive self deceptive hypocrite shit head.

that homosexuality and heterosexuality and transgendered folks would exist.

11. And all babies start out as females, hence, nipples on men. So what?.
"Male nipples aren't exactly a genetic glitch: they are evidence of our developmental clock. In the early stages of life from conception until about 14 weeks, all human fetuses look the same, regardless of gender. At the tender age of 14 weeks post-fertilization , genetically-male fetuses begin to produce male hormones including testosterone. These hormones turn the androgynous fetus into a bouncing baby boy".

12. OMG! Have you seen this jerk-off's web site?
http://www.sbministries.org/

Check out his pics!

Not only does he make my gaydar go "PING!" but with that poofy hair I'd say he could take the "ex" out of his title. No straight guy has worn hair like that since 1974!

(And don't even get me started on the similarities between his wife and more than a few drag queens I've seen!)

:wow:

Bennett no longer struggles with homosexuality whatsoever and is completely heterosexual - the way he was born." What? Do they follow him around 24/7/365, monitoring his every move? Do they have some sort of machine that monitors thoughts of other men that enter his head? Or do they just take his word for it that he doesn't go down to the Fudge Factory on an occasional Friday night for the drag show and end up in the back room?

C'mon, Stephen. Open that closet door a crack!

Besides, your name's a dead giveaway. If you were really straight, you'd go by "Steve" since it sounds sooooo much more manly than "Stephen."*

Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 02:22 PM by FreedomAngel82
Is he really really not doing anything and is truly straight or is it just a front? I remember around last Thanksgiving reading how for around forty something years there was this guy who was publicly anti-gay but he moved to Massachusetts. Why? To marry his boyfriend! I wish I could remember his name. I wonder why we never hear about divorce and aduletry? These two topics Jesus Christ did talk about. He never talked about gay people. Of course too many of the rightwingers are involved in divorce and adultery. I still remember earlier this year Tennessee had some silly "marriage amendment" act and one of the key players the day that it passed was getting a divorce. Why? He had an affair with a younger aide! His wife was interviewed and she was saying how gay people weren't ruining marriages but divorce and adultery were. If these people, I think, really believed in the message(s) they're supposivley preaching they would also talk about divorce and adultery. My preacher has never talked about gay people but he has adultery and divorce.

18. Stephanie needs to turn off his TEETH.
And as mentioned before - does Irene bear some similarity to average drag queens or is it just me?

I'll show this to the lesbians-in-law and see what they have to say about this . . . er . . . "ex"-gay.

26. EVERYBODY sing along for Stevie...
Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A!

They have everything for young men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys...

EX-gay?

My gaydar seldom works and I'm as straight as a stick. And he doesn't look very "ex" to me.

In a couple of years, we can look forward to a scandal involving Stevie and the local Boy Scout troop.

28. With me
I'm also perfectly straight and like my men but I'm a highly sensitive person (empathy wise and all that) and can usually sense stuff as well. He does come off as gay but not terribly strong. Probably something he still "struggles" with I'm guessing. Kind of like that guy who was on CNN once talking about how the straight camp in Memphis helped him.

29. Right, it's about as silly as me gradually becoming an "ex-straight".
Steve needs to watch But I'm a Cheerleader, which deals with this very subject. You are who you are. Nothing can change or "cure" that, and no one should want to.

Didn't a lot of these people who claimed to be ex-homosexuals and ran such camps/speaking appearances get in trouble for having sex with the campers/counselors/others? Wasn't there an article about that somewhere?
