We agree on most social issues but agree to disagree on security issues, ie Bush & Iraq. He asked me this morning if that crazy woman was still in the ditch at Crawford.
I said "Yeah, what about it?"
He said "She should go home, she has already talked to Bush. She is just trying to get attention."
I pointed out "She is just asking the questions everyone want answers to, What are we doing there? What is the noble cause? When will we know mission accomplished this time?" He agreed with that, he's a vietnam vet ex-marine.
I then asked "If Bush was such a strong leader why do the majority of people feel that we don't have an answer to that."
He then said "The mission is to install a democracy in an oil country in the middle east."
I asked "What if the democracy is an a fundementalist islamic country? Is that what we are losing troops for?"
He said "Well the insurgents are foreigners anyway, they are not the average Iraq." I said "That's not true." He looked at me like I've been reading those crazy websites again. I pointed out "If we are getting two separate versions, there is something wrong. Who is lying to us?" He went back to his office after that.

3. The Mission is ????????

The mission is whatever sates the ignorant bastard lemmings on the right. The "original" mission was to rid Iraq of WMDs (which didn't exist. The mission continued to change as our conservative civilian "leadership" kept getting tripped up on their lies. But they knew they had an audience (like your boss??) And when the hell did it become wrong for American Citizens to want to chat with elected officials?
