I'm taking my husband and our two girls, to a vigil supporting Cindy. We are excited about this. Time to stop sqawking and take some action. Wish me luck!

10. someone posted it here I think a while back
Unfortunately I don't have a link. A protest kit contains some of the potenial things you need to save your butt in the event of police intervention. I recommend a phone (in case you get split up from friends). A hand towel and water bottle (soak rag with water and use as a mask in the event of tear gas). A marker to make signs. a second ID in case you lose a wallet or purse.

I wish I had the link, sorry. Have fun!

4. How amazing for you! These are candle light vigils..and they are so
calm and peaceful...however there may be speakers depending on the location of the event. Here in Hampton Roads there is one in VA Beach and I doubt we will have any official speakers. Too red!

11. Me too.
I stopped by the store on the way home to buy candles. I bought extra, just in case someone needed them. Cindy is such an inspiration.

16. Good for you!
Wear comfie shoes! And bring a bottle of water. It's not an all-day event so you shouldn't worry about needing anything else.

I'm going to be at one too!

I'm going to sit on my porch for the vigil. It's not much, but it's something. Nearest vigil is 30 miles away.

I wish I could go too!

19. First Post on DU
Since I can't start a new thread yet to introduce myself, I thought I should just take a moment to wish all of you luck in your various protests. Maybe someday I'll get to one....
