1. Wonderful idea ...

2. That's what we're going to do.

We have a prior commitment that will keep us from getting to an organized vigil on time, so we're going to hold our own at home.

3. Spouse is out of town so my 3 kids and I started ours at 7:30!

We lit 4 tapers, one for each of us, out on our front porch. I have 2 votives in 2 front windows that I can easily keep an eye on.

I read the Beatitudes to my kids, and within a few minutes they began to ask me why very few of the churches in our area nor the people who scream about christianity seem to ascribe to those ideals. We talked about some other things and then one left to finish his homework, and the rest of us are in and out of the house, still talking (I'm trying to answer questions), but at least they're thinking about peace and the future of mankind.

Peace IS a family value!

7. I just returned from one

in Ann Arbor, MI. Well there were two, the first one was more of a meeting/protest sort of thing...I did not make it for the candle light one that was following. It was held on the other side of downtown and my partner had to get home. I took 5 or 6 pictures as everyone started to gather.

The meeting was very moving. The first speaker was a mom also, she read Casey's sisters poem about what it was like to hear her mother's cries and screams after the dress uniform soldiers came to the door...I got very choked-up, as did many others.

There were around 120 people (or maybe more), media and reporters. They had paper for everyone to sign and write notes to Cindy and/or the pResident.

Everyone seemed very inspired, energized and committed to change things.
