Why does "support for the troops" = "leave them in harm's way?"
Why do right-wingers feel that the only way to support the troops is to keep them in danger, encourage them to fight (and if necessary die) bravely, then sing their praises at their memorial servies? Isn't wanting them to return home quickly and safely the highest form of support we could give? What is noble and honorable about dying for a lie?

Right-wingers may not surprise me anymore, but they can still make me wonder!

6. Their not pro-life, just pro-fetus.
Beyond that, they just LOVE torture and maiming and killing--as long as it happens to someone else's loved ones.

Save the fetus.

Save my own ass.

Sacrifice everything else so I can stay comfortable and keep my Hummer.

Supporting the troops mean you don't send them to fight unless it is absolutely necessary. They volunteer to defend our country, they are true heroes.

That's the thing with all the whackjobs saying they volunteered. Yeah, to DEFEND the country. They don't volunteer to do whatever the devil's spawn tells them to.

How can anyone approve of the way the soldiers have been treated by this administration...VA hospitals funding cut, Halliburton feeds them spoiled food-then get's a bonus, after two+ years they still don't have the equipment they need...makes no sense.

7. The troops would have the needed equipment,
but it costs a lot of money for all those God Bless America bumper stickers and yellow-ribbon car magnets. :banghead:

Great post; great thoughts. Welcome to DU!!!
