Had a Sandwich Thrown at Me While Protesting Today

First let me make it clear it was not good bread and the "stuff" inside the styrofoam- looking bread was ,I'm quite sure, an amalgamation of slaughterhouse leftovers.

I was standing at a very busy intersection with a very large banner which reads, CINDY'S SON VOLUNTEERED AND DIED- BARBARA'S SON DESERTED AND LIED. The message a gift from fellow DUer mopaul. The letters are huge in fat fully filled red white and black markers. The form of the lettering is amazing, done by a local artist.

I tacked up the banner on one end of a telephone pole and held the other taut and with the help of a mild breeze those big bright bold letters were staring folks right in the face. At this particular intersection traffic is bogged down due to construction and so during rush hour it takes awhile to get through. In the highly visible position it was possible to pivot the banner around so I could get two different directions, focusing on the heaviest traffic as it changed with the lights.

I'm not one to just say nothing when howled at and when a local freeper screamed "That's total bullshit, he already met with her!", a bit of a non-sequitir, I howled back "If you support the Crawford coward you should enlist you asshole!" His response, "Fuck you, you motherfucker!", and then he leaned out the window from three lanes over and threw the remains of his sandwich right at me. I must admit, the guy has a good arm. It was right on target but a little short, there it lay at the curbs edge. Had it been a heavier bread I think it would've reached me.

I'll be there again tomorrow. It's imperative that we have a visible presence in solidarity every single day. WE CANNOT LET UP!!
