Just a guesstimate but 150,000 is my number. Not bad at all. Now it needs to be 1,500,000.

4. It means that the people are stirring
It means that Cindy Sheehan has started something big. It means that peace is breaking out all over this land.

3. So how many are flip votes?
If it's 150k who voted for Kerry this is another feel good protest. Did any vote for *? Somehow I think that this is the choir rehearsing not recruiting.

5. About protest
Where we are now the point is to break through the propaganda. At my little vigil there were less than 100 people. But we were on Main Street on a summer night and perhaps 1000 cars drove by. 1000+ people had their reality narrative disturbed. 1000+ people were confronted with an unscripted event. This has nothing much to do with elections, it has to do with deconstructing their catapulted propaganda.

6. everyone i met seemed to be Kerry voters
However, it brings awareness. We were on a mainstreet and Im sure some people were wondering what was going on. Maybe peaks curiosity of apathetic people.

the choir needs to be sung to to keep the momentum going. Plus everyone around them, passersby, got to hear their song! ;)

9. We stand a corner here in Tulsa
on a monthly basis. It evokes more positive responses than negative. I think it is so important that peacemongers stand before their community. It gives people the courage to speak out and it gives them hope.

12. I think that's a conservative estimate....
That's what the conservatives would like to estimate. :headbang:

We had 250 at ours in a very red county in a very red state.

13. Uh -hmmm....
OK I don't think I'll interpret that the wrong way. Of course it is a conservative estimate. The number *could* be far higher, it might be lower. Perhaps the various organizers ought to poll their local people and get a better number and get that out to us.

15. Sorry you missed my (obviously too subtle) joke
I was trying to play on the word "conservative", i.e., that's what the right-wingers wish the estimate was.

You know, there's a reason I shouldn't try to make jokes. I'm not all too good at it. ;-)

16. Very conservative estimate. Does MoveOn add up the numbers?
I wonder if the people hosting the vigils are asked to contact MoveOn afterward and give them an estimate on how many people showed up. Does anyone know?
