Winter warning...we are getting double teamed and screwed.
In the news stand this morning one of our local newspapers had the blazing headline that MidAmerican Energy is warning people to expect a 30-40% hike in rates for natural gas this winter. I can't find an online link for this article, but it looks as though what the energy industry doesn't get at the pump, will be collected in the monthly utiity bill at home.

3. I, too,
saw 58%. MidAmerican is "my" utilities provider. I'll be purchasing some electric/oil heaters shortly.

2. If the current prices at the pump aren't waking people up,
this surely will. But I dread to hear the horror stories that will abound this winter.

5. Peak oil; natural gas is nearing peakdom too.
The writing's been on the wall for some time.

Our leaders, both corporate and political, don't care. It's all about money.

The people don't bother to think or research. It's about 9-to-5 and raising their precious widdle famiwy and assuming the leaders are truthful regarding making the future better.

4. My landlord pays my gas bill...
for heating, hot water and cooking. The state added a small fuel surcharge to my rent raise last time but my landlord is still going to be pissed. Of course, he's always pissed about everything.

I am so glad we invaded Iraq, cause our oil will now be cheaper. Wait a sec, that isn't true.

I am so glad we invaded Iraq, it has made America safer. Wait, that isn't true either.

I am so glad we invaded Iraq, now Saddam Hussein does not have any more weapons of mass destruction. Uh oh, that wasn't true either.

I am so glad we invaded Iraq. Wait a sec, that is not true at all.
