Long working hours "health risk"!
Working long hours can greatly increase the risk of suffering injury or illness, a study says.

1. I just mailed that to my husband at work
He works at Fannie Mae in DC. They love to pile assignments on their IT people, to the point that they don't get weekends off for months at a time. Last night he got home at 11 pm. And despite the heavy workload, the imbecile managers call frequent long meetings - attendance mandatory. Then everyone has to work late just to get their regular work done.

2. I detest that.....my hubby and I have experienced that as well
nothing like the moron that decides to call a meeting at 4:30pm that runs til 6pm and then he is pissed cuz no one "asks questions" or he assumes everything is peachy because no one asked any questions...but in reality everyone was trying to end the meeting more quickly in order to get the hell out of work....

I love my current boss...exempts us from must corporate meetings and sends us the typed 4 line version of what happened...and my coworker and I take turns attending the other meetings so that at least one of us can get something done...

3. It's a primate dominance display
As in: "I'm the alpha primate here and I can force you to sit through my meetings (dominance/power displays), because if you don't, you won't get any bananas (paychecks)."

4. We're not people. We're grossly overpaid commodities.
Especially when those ovjects in India get paid 1/20th the typical IT worker gets!

It's all about money, and people will never understand.
