Did anyone see this from truthout last night...
Iraq Veteran Aidan Delgado opened the vigil with a heartfelt message: "In victory or defeat the price is the same... A price that can not be measured in dollars or votes but can only be measured in pain... We must make sure it is never paid again until all other means have failed."
Everyone sang Amazing Grace and Aidan Delgado closed by calling for us to "not just mourn... to live as if we have nothing left to lose and do something to help stop this war."
I don't know if you all have heard about Aidan Delgado, his story is an amazing one. He went to Iraq, as a buddhist, and immediately realized that he had more in common with the Iraqis than the horrible people who sent him there. He handed over his gun, said he would do anything they needed, except kill people. Then he had to suffer the wrath of his commanders and the alienation of his fellow soldiers but finally was released from the military as a conscientious objector.
He is inspirational, if anyone wants to listen to his story...(3 parts-set to music)
