Sixty Per Cent of Iraqis Support Attacks on Coalition Troops.
On an NPR talk show on Sirius this morning, a RW invasion apologists was being grilled by the interviewer and he cited a Pentagon poll/survey done in Iraq in February 2005 which had those results.

If SIXTY percent of Iraqis support the attacks on coalition troops, is there really anyone delusional enough to think that American troops (regardless of how heroic their efforts may be) can ever be successful in forcing an Americanized government on Iraq which the Iraqis will support?

Ironically, its about the same percentage of Americans who no longer believe we will be successful and want to start bringing the troops home.

Sixty (60) percent.

2. There was a Kos diary about this poll

Find it yourself.

This was a telephone poll released by the pentagon’s "news" service. The methodology was this; when someone called the insurgency activity police tip-line they were asked a series of questions. Of course this would mean that the people answering the questions are biased against the insurgents and the same people were asked the same questions over and over.

3. Hmm, let me understand
This would mean that the 60% figure is underestimating the percentage of Iraqis who support attacks on coalition forces? Since the Iraqis calling into the tip hotline are obviously ratting out insurgents?

Worse than I thought.
