A SPATE of co-ordinated bomb blasts shook towns and cities across Bangladesh yesterday in an attack that killed at least two people and caused panic across the country.
At least 125 people were hurt by some 350 blasts that detonated simultaneously at 10am local time near bus and railway stations, and court and government buildings, including at least 15 in the capital, Dhaka.

Forty-five people were arrested and Bangladeshi authorities said that the bombs appeared to be homemade and were capable of causing only limited damage. Lutfuzzaman Babar, the Home Affairs Minister, did not blame any one group. State authorities tightened security across the country.
Dhaka has denied that it has a problem with extremists.
