Honolulu city lights, and candles in the wind for the fallen (Photos)
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 12:07 PM by tommcintyre

From upper Kalihi Valley, Honolulu Hawaii.

Over 100 people showed up.

Lots of media showed up. TV news...

and other.

Their son went to Iraq in April. He was ROTC in college, and never expected this.

Pray, hope, think good thoughts - or whatever you do - for him.

The host invited us to stay after the vigil - I got to meet some very nice people.

The host is on the right - she even provided food - so kind. The guy on the left just wrote a book on ending world hunger (forgot the title, I'll find out).

Just like...

a candle in the wind.

Edit: I forgot a picture.

2. Great Pics
This is getting bigger and bigger as Mr & Mrs "Middle America" start to realize what is really going on...

and the freeps are getting worried....look at this quote from Dana Millbank's column today:

"She's stirred up a wasps' nest," he said, leaning on a flagpole to support his prosthetic legs. "It's definitely getting bigger. They're getting a little out of hand."

6. I think it will get a lot "out of hand" very soon.
This is beginning of the end for the PNAC and all their dirty little plans.

Austin. Their daughter (still in Texas) made the signs for them.

8. Now, that's what i call inspiring. Hawaii, what a state!
tom, Thanks so much. I'm moved by these pics. They show the real America. People are doing this all over the country, just like, on a larger scale, they're getting fed up all over the country...all without any prompting or information from CM (corporate media).

Can it be we're free, that independent media, the internet news services have taken over. They're closing in on the network news and news papers (although the newspapers are part of these services). It won't be long until the network evening news is about as popular as cable network news.

Thanks tom :kick:

11. "the internet news services have taken over"
Ultimately, I believe the grassroots power of the internet is our way out of the new fascism (corportization). This is happening not only in news reporting; but also in politics and "mass communication" in general.

The corportization striped away the peoples power, and the internet is giving it back.

Freedom From Want: The Human Right To Adequate Food (Advancing Human Rights Series) By George Kent (He's also a Prof. at UH - lucky students to have such a caring teacher.)

12. But war protestors are supposed to be wacko, drugged out, smelly types--
what is that lovely, sweet, ordinary couple doing in the middle of this?

Oh, wait--I know: SCARING THE HELL OUT OF THE SHRUBBERY! "Nice" people don't protest wars... :sarcasm:
