70 yrs. ago - - - and the criminal bushgang

70 yrs. ago today I was born in Washington, D.C. at the old Emergency Hospital, and went home to my mother's family 3 story house, built by my great grandfather, eight blocks from the Capitol.

when my mother was a girl she and her aunts in the evenings, would walk the eight blocks to the Capitol steps and listen to free military band concerts.

and she and her girl frinds would roller skate the eight blocks, say hello to the Capitol guards, get a drink of water in the rotunda, then roller skate back home. (nowadays parents wouldn't think of letting a child go eight blocks from home unattended)

when I was a girl I asked my great aunt Annie if she had ever seen Lincoln. she laughed and said "of course" . I thought that was marvelous.

Lincoln was murdered.

I was doing research in the Library of Congress's main reading room when someone came in and whispered that Kennedy had been shot and murdered in Texas.

I knew then that something was wrong in america.

that wrong was the criminal bushgang.

I hope that by the time I'm 80 the bushgang are all in prison.

3. Hear hear!
They tried to get one of the Bush's, I think Prescott, but he died before it happened. And how neat of a time that must have been! My town has free concerts in the summer of artist's who come and play and it seems like a lot of fun. I've been to DC once when I was in seventh grade back when Clinton was president. Back then you could tour the White House and there weren't millions of guards around. I hope we can get back to that someday. I was watching something last night, I think it was on "Control Room" and it was showing how the Capital has been attacked all these multiple times but never before was there so much security like there is now. I call the day Kennedy was shot the day we all died.

5. Happy Birthday!
And I share your sentiments - when you turn 80 may they all be sharing quarters at Fort Leavenworth.
