I am boycotting all anti cindy mom posts from free republic and others

I decided that out of respect for Cindy Sheehan that I am not going too read that comments in it from free republic, drudge, coulter, rush, hannity, o'reilly, or anyone else for that matter. I am not telling people what not too post or too post. I am just saying that I dont want to see these ugly smears and I have no desire to see them repeated on DU.

I am sure that these is a very emotional time for Sheehan family and they need time to heal. I wish cindy's mom a quick and speedy recovery and I will conclude this post with a few words from the boss.

...and I say that as someone who regularly posts crap from those bastards.

I do it because I believe that knowledge is power, and the more we know about Bush's "base," the more we are in a position to defeat them

But in this case, I can tell you that one thing DU will NOT be seeing from me is Cindy-related posts based on the spoutings of the Rush-Hannity crowd.

Once she's dealt with her mom's health and is standing strong on both legs, that's a different story. But right now, I couldn't justify posting that vile shit here, even in the name of "understanding the opposition."

I also appreciate the fact that you said "I am not telling people what not too post or too post"...I appreciate it VERY MUCH...because I have been told "what to post and what not to post" by others on DU, and I've responded to them all.

Short version: "As long as I'm posting within DU rules, don;t click on my thread, hide it, put me in your ignore filter, S.T.F.U., or all of the above."

People have a right to post what they want on DU and I dont have the right to legislate my opinion. You'll notice that I didn't respond to the "cross controversy" because I saw both sides and they both had valid points so I shut my big mouth and kept out of it. :D

I do not feel the negativity from these nimrods does much but piss people off. It also doesn't really add any more insight into the small distorted minds from the other side. For all we know, some of these posts could be deliberate to piss people off, and frankly I would hope others would agree.

Frankly, I don't know why some folks feel it necessary to drag every bit of slime they can find over to DU. Too much time, space and attention is given to people who we can simply make irrelevant by ignoring them.
