6. Wow. What a thing to say out loud. Hope we aren't invading

that country. At $10 a gallon, everyone would leave the north to come south for the winter. I can't even imagine what a heating bill would be like.

We should have a "contest" to see what everyone thinks the pric will be when we start having riots in the street and what the price will be when we start arresting congress critters.

- Cat. 5 Gulf of Mexico hurricane anywhere near New Orleans
- Nigeria Civil War
- Iranian/Iraqi supply offline due to 'Shock-n-Awe II, Chimp's Revenge'
- Iran closing Strait of Hormuz (who'da thunk they had all those ASM's)
- Iraq Civil War spreads into general Whabbi uprising in Saudi Arabia
(The last two are actually 'no gas at any price' scenarios)

Considering any one of the above would result in an oil shock, I would say it is nearly certain we will have $10/gal within the next couple of years. We may get there in two years, even without a geopolitical 'event', if Simmons warnings about depletion rates are proven true.

Whole thing reminds me of the scene from 'Ice Station Zebra' where they are heading for the bottom, reactor redlining, turbines overheating, waiting for a system failure which would spell doom for the sub.
