Message From Cindy

Message from Cindy
Cindy wanted to pass this message on to her supporters, both here in Camp Casey and and around the world:

"I'm going to take care of my mother right now, but I hope to be back before the end of August. Meanwhile, keep the camp together, and keep your spirits high. I may have started this camp out, but I'm counting on you to continue the movement. The call to end the war must be made by everyone!"

Cindy, we're thinking of you and praying for your mother's health. Do what you need to do and we'll see you soon! We'll move our camp early tomorrow morning before the Interfaith service at noon, and we're really looking forward to having more space and security (and being closer to Bush's ranch ;) The camp will be even bigger and better by the time you return to us.

4. Other GSFP can lead the way
They also have the right to ask "Why did my child die?" It'll help take the focus off of the messenger (Cindy until now) and put it on her message - where it belongs and where Cindy herself wants it. Are there any GSFP that did NOT meet with Junior about their "loved one?" How could he legitimately refuse to meet with them since he's never spoken to them, ever? No 'dangerous precedent' to set there.

I hope Cindy's mother gets well, soon. That family has had more tragedy than anyone should ever have to deal with.

8. They do have the right to ask "why did my child die?"
I hope they get LOUDER. I hope they get coverage... it's the message that needs to carry on.

11. I agree completely with your post!
First, my prayers and heart-felt best wishes are with Cindy and her family.

Second, the media/rw has been making it seem as though Cindy is the lone military family voice speaking out. They no longer mention GSFfP, Veterans for Peace, or Military Families for Peace.

Cindy has said many times that miracles happen everyday at Camp Casey. This newest tragedy in Cindy's family comes at a time when the media needs to be slapped in the face with the reality that this movement is more than just one grieving mother. There are *many* grieving mothers who want to ask shrub what is the noble cause that their child died for.

Cindy, I hope your mother is okay. I wish her a speedy recovery. Hopefully it was a TIA, or a very mild stroke. God bless you, your mother, and your entire family. We will carry on your wishes, and our thoughts will be with you always. Often times God's plan isn't immediately known or understandable. Stay strong and know that you have millions of people who love & support you.

6. Cindy = strength
She is really going thru it, isn't she?

Losing Casey, standing up to this administration, uniting the country, her in-laws publicly trashing her, her husband publicly divorcing her, and now her mom.

I am not a religious person, but I am praying for her to remain strong.

7. Bless you, and the rest of us, Take to The Streets!
I am 54 next month, and I am tired of compliments for Cindy. When do we follow up, and take to the streets to say this war is a failure? It is more immoral and unsuccessful than Vietnam; the difference is we will pay a heavier price, thanks to (beyond a doubt) the worst president in our history. Sympathy for Cindy doesn't do it. See you American-hating, leftist sympathizing, heads-must-be-shooken-at-because-we-are-just-misguided-Americans at the rally in DC on Sept. 24. (This is sarcasm, for you visitors from Free Republic. Duh.). And by the way, bite me, O'Reilly. Stop the War.

13. Different voices for different occasions
Cindy's strength is in her quiet voice. Camp Casey is the place for her kind of activism, and she is being heard around the world. She is The Mother Who Has Lost Her Son. She stays on message: "For what noble cause did my son die?" And she has the Repubs shitting bricks.

The rest of us have marched, shouted, chanted, and ranted -- and where has it gotten us? We've been herded into No-Free-Speech Zones. We've been arrested. We've been ignored and misrepresented by the MSM and our elected representatives.

We've done a lot of hard work, we really have. Many new activist organizations have been formed. We've been exercising our First Amendment rights like mad. We've accomplished a lot, though we have mountains left to do.

But if all of us shouters and ranters go down to Crawford to "help" Cindy, the phenomenon that is Cindy will vanish like a puff of smoke. I have been to so many rallies it makes my head spin, and one thing is sure: we can't stay on message to save our lives.

(WARNING: guaranteed to offend just about everyone!) My god, if it's not the Palestinians it's Native Americans, and if it's not Free Leonard Peltier it's Yucca Mountain's radioactive waste, and if it's not the the redwoods it's the whales, and if it's not reproductive choice it's separation of church and state....

These are all important issues. I know that very well, because if there's anything at all that I hold dear that Bushco has NOT somehow trampled on, I don't know what it is. Their perfidy is overwhelming, okay?

But we go to have a rally and every single constituency jumps up and down at once and the upshot is that we are only talking to ourselves. The MSM sends cameras and gets close-ups of that small percentage of us that looks unhinged -- and then tells their audience we're all wild-eyed radical hippies and hate America. Well Bush makes me wild-eyed, but that's not the point.

Cindy Sheehan has the country's attention because she is Every Mom. She is one voice with one message, and it is a heartbreaking question that does not need to be shouted. It is a heartbreaking question that reverberates around the nation and around the world.

Bush has been vacationing in Crawford for 5 years. Protestors presumably could have gone out there at any time in the past, but I don't recall anyone actually doing so. My guess is that it has always looked like an unattractive way to spend August. My guess also is that if any group or groups were to head toward the ranch shouting and carrying on like we do at rallies, they would have been pretty quickly removed by the Secret Service and the MSM would all agree it was a Credible Threat to the Prez.

Cindy and the peaceful people who have joined her do not look threatening to anyone except the Bushies, who are running scared. If for any reason she were to be arrested now, it would make the Bushies look very bad, even worse than they already do for ignoring her.

We'll have our chance for noisy rallies in September, in Washington DC. In that place, I'm afraid Cindy Sheehan's voice will be lost in the noise, but it will be a different occasion.
