The Chick-ing of America: Winger questions for Biology profs.
Clueless conservative columnist Christopher Flickinger, unable to comprehend what biologists mean when they say evolution is a fact and encouraged by "president" George "Bonehead" Bush's greenlight to school boards to put creationism on an equal footing with evolution in biology classes, proudly offered these Jack Chick-like questions for any brave conservative college student to put to his Biology for Jocks prof on the first day of class.

· In the Declaration of Independence, our founders speak of “unalienable rights” by which we are endowed with by our Creator. If there is no Creator, then where do our rights come from? A piece of paper?

· Darwin put forth the idea (I mean, fact) of “survival of the fittest.” So, if “might makes right,” would those who believe in God be justified in suppressing and persecuting those who believe in Darwin?

· How did Biblical figures know the Earth was round and that ocean currents, sub-atomic particles, a jet stream and an infinite number of stars existed if they lived thousands of years before scientists would make those discoveries?

· If evolution rests on the idea of natural selection and adaptation, and if everything that exists today only exists because it is the “fittest” or it “adapted” in order to survive, should humans really be going out of their way to save the whales or prevent the extinction of some endangered species? Aren’t we doing evolution a disservice by nurturing these inadequate creatures?

Evolution certainly has a lot of explaining to do.

1. Jeebuz.
None of those questions have any place in a science class at any level.

2. If he doesn't believe in evolution
the next time he needs medical treatment, he should seek a preacher and not a doctor.

Evolutionary biology is the structure that holds up modern medicine. If he doesn't like that, he is free to die a slow and painful death while being treated by "faith".

4. Answers
1) piece of paper (expression of philosophical thoughts). Besides even if there is a Creator, we haven't seen any papers from him/her yet.

2) And the contrary. That was what the French revolution did. We have been in peace from stupid and mean preachers in more than 200 years.

3) Observation : the Greek calculated the circumference of the Earth with an error of some hundred of kilometers. They just had the Sun, some wooden poles and were good in geometry. The same for currents (they sailed up to Scandinavia). The rest is only speculation out of fragments of some poorly understood languages. Besides We believe that there are on the order of 10 power 21 stars in our Universe, according to NASA. so the Bible is wrong.

4) because endangering those species through predation or pollution is threatening our mere existence.

Which shows that the questions are biased and not even based on facts.
