I tend toward the LIHOP point of view but I realize that governments can do dastardly things to advance their agendas and that those agendas do not necessarily coincide with the interests of the American public.

I'd imagine most wars were begun, intentionally or not, with 'bad intel'. I just don't see how that makes an attack into a joke, notwithstanding the trivial nature of that attack.

I'm not one who would celebrate the tanking of the Dow Jones average after Bush finishes one of his Destruction of Social Security speaking engagements even though such tanking further reveals the fallacy of his proposals. For the same reason I cannot celebrate even a trivial attack against our ships of war because it will hurt US.

9. BBC showed video of one of those missiles

It was the size of a 2L soda bottle and it hit the ground and didn't explode. I highly doubt that one of those would have caused damage anywhere close to the USS Cole which was hit by a raft laden with high explosives.

Thank God no one was hurt. Maybe the "chimpster" should end his vacation and return to the White House. I don't think he's had much fun on this vacation anyway.

Any other pResident, would have been back in the "situation room" in the basement of the White House in a heartbeat if missiles were fired at one of our Navy ships (an act of war, by the way). Guess there's a whole hell of a lot of brush to clear.

And I'm in the Navy. I've spent 21 years in the Navy. and I have to ask...

I missed the story of the Jordanian soldier that was killed. I based my statement off of the US Military report that no Sailors or Marines were injured.

Didn't mean to be callous, but being in the Navy, let me tell you. Missiles are no "joke" and it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Especially since the ASHLAND carries of crew of around 300 Sailors and 4-600 Marines.
