The networks and Natalee Holloway
(yes I know this is tragic for the Holloways and I am not trying to be insensitive to their grief)

The coverage of this story now reminds me of some poor QVC hostess who has to talk for 10 minutes non-stop about a rock (" so smooth . . .notice the heaviness and the heft. Now this might look like any old rock you could find in your yard, but I assure you it is not.. .and did you notice the flecks? Here, let me hold it up to the camera . . . This reminds me of rocks I used to play with as a child . . . Or even a paperwight!)

How do these "news" people get up in the morning?

1. Just taking a second to say, quit watching. It doesn't care what
you think. It only cares that you watch.

I feel like the whole Peterson/Jackson/Holloway/et al is basically what Bradbury had in mind with that Fahrenheit 451 interactive soap opera thing.

4. I have quite watching and I also made a donation to IWT news
(Independent World Television News) so I could be spared the mind-dumbing drivel of CNN, MSNBC and FOX. I think people who watch are exposing themselves to a high risk factor of developing pre-senile dementia at alarming rates.

2. It's really bizarre to me also. At this point this is such a
non-story, yet they keep on harping on it. I tried to find something newsworthy 2 nights ago and both Scarborough and Greta were covering that and the guy on the cruise ship ad nauseum. I don't get it. Perhaps they've been ordered to steer clear of any real news.

3. College Girl in Columbus Ohio missing - foul play may be suspected
this is the next one kids

JULIE POPOVICH
http://www.nbc4i.com/news/4870818/detail.html

Here is her picture and her info: http://www.stopcrime.org/missing.asp

The flyers went up EVERYWHERE around central Ohio yesterday.

Maybe by posting this here, one more group of people seeing her face may recognize her from somewhere. The interviews of her family this morning were devastating to watch.

My other purpose, not to be callous, was to point out what we will be seeing next. The Natalee case (correct me if I am wrong) will not end with Natalee coming home, but maybe, maybe if some people see the picture of JULIE POPOVICH now, maybe she is still able to come home.

5. Corp. media is very happy to have Holloway to cover. Then they
don't have to discuss all the depressing things that are really important and effect the people of our country. Like:
How many American soldiers were killed today or this week.
How many Iraqi policemen, soldiers, women and children were killed.
How much money it's costing us, our children and our grand children.
How the presidents poll numbers are dropping and why.
How the rest of the world hate us.
All the memos that come out proving that Bush lied........
All the Cindy Sheehan protesters.
Our lack of preparedness for this war.
All the thousands of new terrorists we are creating.
Those nasty photos that might be published.
And nobody has a chance to ask WHY we really went to war.
When are our troops coming home?

Who wants to hear about all that depressing stuff stuff anyway?
Our children aren't in danger so lets be happy. Maybe get in our SUV's and burn some gas.

The last thing the media wants is for someone to find Holloway.
