At what point do you become a crackpot?

I just had a LTTE published about two weeks ago. This week I made an on-line response to the following poll and today those comments were published. I didn't intend for that to happen, but it did. It's a small town newspaper, just how much is too much?

It’s difficult to choose between big oil companies and President Bush. They go hand in hand, or perhaps, hand in our pockets.

The oil companies are making tons of money. Bush rewards them with corporate welfare in the new energy bill.

I think the only "crackpots" are the ones who would disagree! And we know they are in the minority.

5. It's the timing of the thing

Around here very few people write LTTE. Those who do are usually belittled as "people who ought to be on medication". I've been on the editorial page twice in the last month. I suspect that the editor is trying to submarine me by printing my comments about the poll.

I admit i don't know your locale, but if they get few letters, the editor might just be willing to print anything with a cogent point and good grammar. One would have be truly around the bend to see any "crackpotness" in your letter.

mainly because the editor of our local paper is openly Repug.and blatantly bragged about going to a bush rally in our area. She even described her anti-Kerry flip-flopper pin! Some how I don't think she would print any of my opinions.
