Anybody catch Ashkkkroft on CNN?

I only caught part of it.

He restated that an investigation was going forward and that DOJ had advised the administration to retain all notes, e-mails, phone logs etc., that would pertain to the investigation. He said they had also given the same instructions to the CIA.

Then he said something really interesting:

to paraphrase: "...since this is an on-going criminal investigation, I will have no futher comments on this matter....."

Reporters asked:

Why didn't you appoint a special prosecutor?

Can the DOJ be independent in this investigation?

He repeated the last phrase.
