4. Bought a conventional car. Nissan Sentra. Gets 31.5 mixed.
Would get more if the freeway driving wasn't at 80 mph--gotta' stay out of the way or get hurt.

Main reason was battery life and cost of replacement. If I planned to trade up every 5 years it might make sense except that trade in of a hybrid with a battery out of warranty will be almost nothing.

6. Price point wasn't the problem for us
The waiting list was so long for a prius that my husband's car was dying and we couldn't wait 8-10 months for a new car (as it was we were expecting a new baby in two months.

This was before the honda's were available.

I think you have to consider supply as well as price.

...the government should be giving huge incentives for very efficient vehicles ... making them affordable.
