"Cindy just called me to chat, to my great pleasure and surprise....the prognosis for her mom is improving rapidly, and the doctors say that she should recover, but there is almost certainly going to be paralysis. Cindy will be forced to stay there, and rightfully so, until Wednsday, maybe a little earlier, and then she will return to Camp Casey for the final days..."

10. The brain is an extraordinary thing.

Even paralysis can be often significantly mitigated with therapy. Of course, a lot depends on how serious the stroke is, but she might get back more functioning than you think. We can hope as hard as possible for her.

I just got off the phone with Cindy. She is good spirits. She said that her mom is doing better today. The physical therapist was there today, and her mom is regaining movement on the side that was affected by the stroke, Cindy is hoping to be back to Crawford by Wednesday. I sent her all of our best wishes.
