Laws expressed concern that a crew of Seattle Jews made up of wealthy developers who oppose the monorail would back Beth Goldberg, a Jewish challenger to her seat.
The way Laws sees it, Jews in the past have contributed lots of money to anti-monorail forces, so Goldberg would unfairly benefit from "those connections."
Laws went on to say 75 percent of the money spent on last year's unsuccessful monorail-recall ballot measure came from the Jewish community. She mentioned being "terrified" by the power of the developers, according to people who heard her verbal Chernobyl last week during her candidate interview before the King County Labor Council.

Laws tried to re-explain herself, saying Jews are deft in raising money, naturally. Thud, again.
