While chocolate is delicious and the funding of school repairs is important, Vermonters, there is a war going on that is bankrupting this nation morally and financially, as well as putting the lives of our troops in peril.
The media has its head in the sand, and the print media has gone so far as to unscramble Bushisms into coherent English.
Vigils for peace broke out around America last week. There was news of them Thursday, but no follow-up today. Could this be because countering the Iraq invasion counters the financial interests of media ownership?
What other reason is there for not highlighting growing public dissent about a military conflict that began as the invasion of a sovereign state, has violated the Geneva Conventions, and that has, in fact, flouted those very conventions?
The attorney general of this country drafted the framing of grounds for the flagrantly immoral and illegal detention of hundreds of individuals, mainly Muslims, in detention camps out of the boundaries of the United States so Americans could not be informed about the conditions of their detention or the charges under which they are being held.
