How can I find out how many hits DU gets a day?

It pertains to a local community board and discussion with a freeper who claims FR has had over 3 million visitors in the past quarter.

1. Might want to check what Alexa says

I'm not sure how exact Alexa is, but it seems to be generally correct.
I believe FR does get more traffic than DU, but they got quite a headstart.

4. Hits are irrelevant - site visits matter

Hits = every file downloaded. Meaning, every graphic on a page counts as a separate hit, and every time you click on to another page on the same site that also causes multiple hits. A single page could represent three dozen hits, if it has enough files on it.

Also, search engines going through sites generate an enormous amount of hits.

What matters is individual site visitors, i.e. the statistic that tells you how many actual other computers (identified by DNS) have logged into your site that day. Many of these will be search engines, but still let's say 90 percent are real world visitors.

The ratio can be as high as 1,000 site visitors generating 100,000 hits.

2,000 real visitors a day will put you in the top 100,000 sites at Alexa.com.

I'd guess based on registered users that DU gets 40,000-100,000 real visitors a day.

My first thought was kos has few pics but then I realized it has alot of links.
Also alot of it's visitors are probably opposition looking for scoops.

5. oops, the guy does use the word "visitors"

so I guess thats what I really mean. Not hits. So then, I wonder how many "visitors" we have had in the last quarter in comparison to FR. I'll check out those links.

8. My photobucket got 5000 hits in the Cindy vigil pic thread

that was in one night.

And it only had 200 hits before I posted my pics on that thread.
