4 more dead GIs in Afghanistan. Yawn..
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 09:53 AM by Tierra_y_Libertad
KABUL, Afghanistan - A roadside bomb killed four U.S. soldiers and wounded three others Sunday as they patrolled southern
Afghanistan — the deadliest attack on American forces here in nearly two months, the U.S. military said.

Militant assaults elsewhere killed a senior pro-government Islamic leader and two Afghan policemen, as Taliban-led rebels step up a campaign to subvert key Sept. 18 legislative elections. Seven U.S. soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan during the past four days.

On the outskirts of the capital, Kabul, a roadside bomb exploded near a U.S. Embassy convoy, wounding two American officials, an embassy spokesman said.

"When you're layin' out on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women are comin' to cut up your remains,
Just roll on rifle and blow out your brains,
And die like a good British soldier."

With apologies to Rudyard Kipling and my grandfather who fought the Afghans as Brit soldier way back when.

The futility continues.

I edited in the "yawn", because that seems to be the reaction to casualties nowadays. They are no longer people, just numbers.

1. Why don't you report the good news
about Bush riding bikes with Lance?

2. Silly me! I forgot that the doings of celebrities are more important.
After all, who knows what kind of deoderant those 4 guys were wearing? And, they probably didn't have a nice lunch with Bush or some other bigshot before being snuffed in far off place for nothing.

3. Yes, and try to understand
that Bush has to 'get on with his life' because 'Americans want to know that their president is balanced' and besides, why can't you understand that Rush is 'tired of having to display all this sympathy for dead troops?' Being compassionate is 'hard work' ~

Afghanistan, the forgotten war ~ may their families find comfort ~ four more devasted families as a result of the policies of this president and his failed administration. :patriot:

4. my nephew's there
Every time I hear of a death there, a chill goes down my spine. I get so angry--I am one of the few people who didn't want us to attack Afghanistan militarily. But having done it, we owed it to the Afghans and our military to focus on eliminating the threat there. Instead, the idiot-in-chief undermined our own soldiers by opening a theater of war in Iraq. What other monster also started an unnecessary second front in pursuit of his blind ambition? Name started with an H and ended with an R.....

5. why do you hate america?
i sometimes have a second of "meh" when the news reports the iraq and afghanistan casualties EVERY DAY! it is because i am thinking that of course more people are getting killed. the news keeps reporting it like they are surprised and shocked. what do people expect when we occupy a country illegally (iraq) and have torn up and not helped but back together both countries.

after my second of "so?", then i get mad and start cursing the administration. every morning in my shower i rant and curse the whole time. my cats always look like they think they are in trouble when i get out.
