Hagel Says Iraq War Looking Like Vietnam
Hagel Says Iraq War Looking Like Vietnam

WASHINGTON - A leading Republican senator said Sunday the war in Iraq is looking more like the Vietnam conflict from a generation ago.

Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel (news, bio, voting record), who received two Purple Hearts and other military honors for his service in Vietnam, reaffirmed his position that the United States needs to develop a strategy to leave Iraq.

"Stay the course is not a policy," said Hagel, a possible White House contender in 2008. "By any standard, when you analyze 2 1/2 years in Iraq ... we're not winning."

snip...
"What I think the White House does not yet understand — and some of my colleagues — the dam has broke on this policy," Hagel said. "The longer we stay there, the more similarities (to Vietnam) are going to come together."

2. looks like he's busy trying to "run" for president. After all he owns
shares in ES&S - why not "run" when you own a solid chunk of the voting company that can fix the election?

Hagel is using this "war" in order to present himself as a republican with moral fibre. CHE...RIST ... it's always about the next f#%^ing election and screwing the fools that will gladly go along..

Time to present him as he really is.

3. Starting? It looked like Viet Nam from the beginning....
False reasons given to invade a country we were determined to invade.
(It was the Gulf Of Tonkin incident for Viet Nam)

4. Hey Chuck, where were you for the past few years?
Oh yeah. Buying up vote machine companies so you could steal elections.

Fuck Chuck.

He's only saying this because he wants to run for office.

6. Yep
I've told that to many people though who are rightwing and they are in denial so I just show them what Hagel has said. I have heard he's been against Iraq since 2003. What is strange about that to me is how he's a twenty something friend of the Bush family and was originally Bush's choice for VP. We all know why Cheney was elected instead.

7. And the only reason he's allowed to say this . . .
Is because he belongs to the politically correct party. Anyone who was against this misguided Iraq war and its bastard stepfather in Afghanistan is unofficially banned from the airwaves.

Atheist vs. Christian? Please.
Homophobes vs. Freedom and Justice for All? Peanuts.
Right Wing Republicans vs. Ultra Right Wing Republicans? Par for the course.

The REAL forbidden subject on our nation's airwaves and media outlets is input from persons who don't believe in our national myth of redemptive violence. That is, that we fight, shoot, bomb, blast, or nuke our way out of any situation or crisis. Anyone who questions this myth is banned from public discussion.
