Propane (Monthly, August 2 survey): $1.87 (unchanged since 6/28 survey)
http://www.mass.gov/doer/

That's right:$2.15 a gallon

Last year we paid $1.10 during the coldest months

You know what my husband did yesterday? He and a friend cut down 3 trees and he plans on taking a vacation day to split them

My stoic husband actually said yesterday that he is scared about what is coming

We also heard that to "lock in" to a price you have to have a 150 gallon minimum purchase; my tank at the moment only needs a 100 gallons - God knows what the price will be when I can buy 150 gallons

And as mad as I am about these prices I'm madder still at all the other shit that has gone on in the last 5 years

And I'm really mad that it's taking these prices to wake people up to everything else that 's been going on in other areas

Has it really been 30 years since the oil crunch of the 70's? We've spent billions wasted in Iraq and on weapons systems and we had 30 years to prepare and we wasted the opportunity to develop alternative fuel sources

2. As Thom Hartmann likes to educate us on,
Carter HAD a plan. He passed legislation for research and tax credits -and even put solar panels on the WH. Thank Reagan/Bush and the big OIL backers. We HAD a plan. 30 years later, we get a tyrant who actually said in his first months in office that we need a policy that 'encourages consumption'.
Its insane- and the American idiots cheer.

4. The entire Repug Party has so much to answer for in so many
areas

Can anyone name one Repug that is a true environmentalist and not at the mercy of the oil cartel?

7. I remembered, people laughed at Carter for putting Soler Panel on top
of the Whitehouse roof. Well, I guess, no one is laughing now except for Bush and Oil companies.

5. How hard would it be to syphon gas from Republicans' houses?
Not that anyone should do that sort of thing.

8. What if you just leave a note SAYING you siphoned their oil or gas...
But then don't actually do it.

Then:

1) No theft has been committed.

2) You make a political point, if you leave the right kind of message behind.

3) You piss-off Republicans.

4) It makes the evening news, spreading your message even further.

5) Perhaps "copy-cats" do it for real, and THEY will risk getting arrested, not YOU.

Yeah, that sounds like fun!

9. Back in the 70's one of my wacked out older teenage neighbors
siphoned gas out of the police chief's car (the chief live about 4 streets away)

My wacked out teenage neighbor got shot for that stunt

10. my heating cost has more than tripled
I have an oil company that lets me make even payments all year around, and I used to pay $80/month for a hundred-year-old 3-story house (that includes a service contract). Now my monthly payment is $253.
