...I don't think there was any reason to deny DistressedAmerican and his sister the freedom to set up their own tent at the Camp Casey site. Apparently, one of the organizers thought their message and DU's message was too "extreme" or something ridiculous like that.

There does appear to be some minor squabbles and miscommunications between Camp Casey organizers, and DistressedAmerican was one of the casualties. It was great to meet him and his sister, though, at long last.

29. This photo essay deserves a kick to the top of DU.

It was a privilege to get to meet you all from DU.

To the rest of the DU'ers who couldn't be there. The A's were late arriving yesterday, but when we finally arrived I spent a great deal of the evening looking for DA and Sis. I found the signs, I just could not find them. I was searching everywhere, I had people posted by the signs, no one could tell me where they were??? At the end of the evening, we were standing in line to catch the "shuttle" back to town, I looked over and I saw Hadi talking to a tall guy, I tuned in and I heard a voice I'd been speaking with over the phone for a week or so. It was DA.

I have to give a huge shout out to these two. In spite of frustration all day they had stepped up to the plate and they spent an entire evening volunteering and helping, I'm a Texan and it was rough (the heat & humidity). I felt guilty leaving them, but I was incredibly proud to know them and to know they were with DU. I have many more shout outs to give everyone with DA tonight and please forgive, I remember your first names, not DU names, you all were just incredibly uplifting to be with. DU can stand really proud.

DU has been amazing. I have new info and more to share, but it is 3 am and I'm truly going to say good night now.
