We need to start calling the media the "ENEMY"...
Take CBS and AP

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/08/20/politics/main789020.shtml
Anti-War Mom Opposition Mounting

(AP) A Utah television station is refusing to air an anti-war ad featuring Cindy Sheehan, whose son's death in Iraq prompted a vigil outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch.

...

Station General Manager David D'Antuono said the decision was not influenced by the station's owner, Clear Channel Communications Inc.

...

That's not even good bullshit. The title does not at all reflect the obvious corporate overlord control in play. Obfuscate, obfuscate, obfuscate

1. Agreed: A grass roots movement against them....

There needs to be a NATIONAL GRASS ROOTS CAMPAIGN..labeling the mainstream television news as enemies of the american people...eos.

it should be symbolized by something simliar to the ribbons....be well organized....and cast them as for what they have become.

they are definately the enemy of the american people...

7. Even the RW doesn't moan about the "liberal" press anymore.
To do so is disingenuous.

2. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.
Not only does this post take the anecdote of the ONE STATION IN THE SLC MARKET and make it into a rule, but ignores the facts that the OTHER AFFILIATES HAVE DECIDED TO AIR IT.

Go ahead. Attack and piss off the media. Let's see how much coverage YOU get.

im talking about the major networks...not affiliates...

there is no question that the major news networks do not look to appease or protect the american people.....

CNN FOX etc etc...

there should be a public oranized movement against them....not just talk but a symbolic....BS symbol...we dont believe u ...and we believe u are in fact...the enemy...

It's not the whole media but people like this witch that refuse to absorb reality are making more heroes out of the love of our mothers.

needs a symbol...something we can put on our cars...

and a movement that says "o, we want u to act better" NO....

we believe that CNN, FOX....take ur pic.....are facist controlled outlets of propaganda aimed at fooling the american public against its own interests.

that we beleive you are the enemy......and we are going to fight you and tell all our friends and family what we think....and turn this over on....let's make Jennings proud.....

10. I Disagree
Calling them an "enemy" is not in our own best interests.
I doubt we can change them using adversarial tactics. Our best
chance is to get average citizens to see them for what they are:
Corporate owned propaganda machines.

To that end, lets call them what they really are;
No more NBC... It's the Defense Contractor Network
No More ABC... It's the Disney Fantasy Network
No More CBS... It's Entertainment News Network
No More Fox... It's Crazy Australian Guy Network
CNN is obvious...Corporate News Network
MSNBC is Microsoft-Defense Contractor Network.

When they hide behind meaningless acronyms, people really are unaware
of who owns the news. People are beginning to understand this (slowly).
Just keep telling people in a non-confrontational way if you really want change.
