Senator Trent Lott Confirms Downing Street Memo ?
Hell hath no fury like a Senator scorned. Senator Trent Lott, on MTP this morning, said George Bush had intent to resolve the Saddam problem as early as August 2002 in his private meetings wtih him. At the time, Lott was Majority leader of the Republicans. He was later forced out for his remarks at a birthday celebration for Strom Thurmond. He would have survived if he had not been attacked by his fellow Repubs, most notably the present Majority Leader, Bill Frist. Now it appears it is payback time.

2. Yes indeed! Lott is pissed as hell at Frist
because Frist blindsided him by running for the ML and then Bush made a nasty remark about him to the press and didn't defend him. Lott was pretty close to Clinton (he said they worked well together) and the Bush regime HAD to get rid of him. Payback's a bitch! Karma, baby, Karma.

9. please, this is Trent Lott we're talking about, it's not like he's changed
a whole bunch, he's pissed at Bush and he's striking back. Better have the republicans kill each other, it's more fun that way.

11. Fuck no, I don't want Trent Lott in my party
Let's not kid ourselves, Trent Lott is still a racist Republican. He's just pissed at Frist and Bush for leaving him out to hang.

5. This will be fun. Every GOP henchman thinks they can be king since vote
counts can be programmed ahead of the game. They each believe the promise of power granted for doing the dirty work assigned to them. Who gets offered the crown when they need a hit man to take down Frist? What will Frist call his book attacking his political assassin?

15. Patience pays off
Looks like Lott has been laying in the weeds waiting for the right time to take his shot. Now that W is damaged goods, Lott is getting his kicks at the presidential groin.

Interesting that Blitzer didn't play this little gem during his Late Edition wrap up of the Sunday morning shows. Feathering his nest a little, I guess.
