Norm Coleman is an EVEN BIGGER asshat than before

...that is, if it's possible for him to be a bigger asshat than before.

One of the quite few admirable things Norm did was oppose drilling in the ANWR, much to the chagrin of his boss/patron/pitcher "the Shrub". However, according to this story, he'll soon sell out.

Basically, Norm is ready to trade his "No" vote on ANWR drilling for some loan gaurantees on a proposed power plant to be built on Minnesota's economically-challenged Iron Range. It is doubtful that this power plant will do much for the jobless people of the area.

Meanwhile, our other courageous MN Senator Mark Dayton is keeping his "No" vote, as he knows this thing stinks to high heaven.

I never did like Norm, even when he was a Democrat, and I grow to detest him more each and every day. It really does make one miss Paul Wellstone more and more.

ON EDIT: I forgot to mention that this reversal GOES DIRECTLY AGAINST a campaign promise he made last year. NEVER trust Norm Coleman.
