Illinois: more harrasment of peace vigil participants.
From a LTTE by a Vietnam veteran.

"All was going peacefully and problem-free until a Homewood police officer came by and told participants we were on private property and forced us to the sidewalk.

The vigil took place at the Homewood Veterans Memorial. The officer claimed the property belonged to a private business, which had donated it. It can't be both. If the land was donated, it no longer belongs to the business."

3. Check with a lawyer
before you plan to protest. You might contact the ACLU or something. They may be able to help you find out whether the public property is considered to be public for demonstration purposes. Just because the government owns a property doesn't mean you can demonstrate on it.
