Republicans Hate Jesus & Freeper Lurkers Spread Vicious Lies on DU
Edited on Sun Aug-21-05 10:57 PM by tmorelli415
Republicans are the Pharisees of our times. Democrats do now and have always respected the sanctity of religion (all religions), and its powerful role in society and personal life. We also respect a person's right to religious freedom because we know that freedom can only be guaranteed when government is completely neutral in respect to faith.

They know this and that is why they sneak around on DU and try to create phony posts so they can try to make Democrats look hostile to Christianity. Christ had some pretty strong words to say about those who would use his name to divide us:

"Whoever does not gather with me scatters. Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemey will be forgiven, but he who blasphemes against the Spirit will never be forgiven and is guilty of an everlasting sin." Mark 3:28-29

But they want YOU and everyone else to believe that we are hostile to religion. and Christianity specifically. Or that we are not people of faith. I've had all I'm going to take of these lies.

Let me be clear: a vast majority of Democrats - including me - are people of deep faith. And most of us are Judeo-Christian just like the rest of America, but we respect and welcome all faiths (or those with no religion at all).

And the God we worship in Blue states is a God we worship because we want to, not because we have to. And not because a bunch of lunatic radical religous whackos have taken over our party and made it 'fashionable' to wear religion on our shirt sleeves - our faith is quiet, personal and profound. Ours is a faith of actions and not empty words.

And real Democrats would NEVER make loud and offensive public pronouncements attacking and ridiculing the things others find sacred. These posts are nothing but Lurker-manufactured hate speech. They DO NOT represent how Democrats feel, and I for one will NOT continue to take a pass when I see them.

Christ told us how to spot these people:

"At that time Jesus said to the disciples, 'Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? ... Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you wil know them.'" Matt 7:16-21

Sound like anyone you know?

Shall we make a list of the fruits of Republican rule? The fruits of the various mystery posts that pop up on DU from the same list of known lurkers? How about we just count as their fruits the 1,800 dead American soldiers from this Republican war in Iraq?

Or even the aborted children that they claim to so fervently want to save, but have done aboslutely nothing toward their goals even after having complete control of the government for 5 years now? A fruit that is a better political tool than a solved problem, perhaps?

Or perhaps the 100,000 dead Iraqi children or the naked piles of Iraqi prisoners tortured by their cronies? Or maybe the divorce rate in Red states that far outpaces the Blue states? Or perhaps even the teenage pregnancy rate in Red states that is higher than Blue states and growing just like the number of abortions under their illustrious president?

Are those enough fruits, or are gay men and women the only 'froots' they are concerned about as they picket funerals of gay soldiers and shout slogans that are an affront to God's promise of love and mercy and forgiveness?

Or perhaps their fruits are the massive deficits that cripple our economy, take money from our pockets and destroy our environment? Perhaps their God is money instead of Jesus Christ, and their fruits are ethical scandals and the tears of grieving mothers (WE LOVE YOU, CINDY!)?

Then again, maybe their fruits are the countless deliberately false statements, manipulated intelligence and deceptions that took our country to war based on a pack of lies?

How sad that these hypocrites come to DU and use Christ as a tool to spread lies and manufacture controversy. Need I say more?

You're a sick bastard, buddy. Take your twisted religious vendetta against Democrats someplace else - I can deal with your other posts but this is over the line.

I'll say a prayer for you.

1. As a Christian, I find it beneficial to root out the individuals who
would destroy a fine religion. But, they are everywhere. The 'pick-and-choose' CINO's know what they are doing, they've been at it for a long time.

Anyone who tries to 'scare' religion into someone, of forces their religious beliefs on another, regardless of that belief, is far off base.

I laugh at those that have bastardized my religion, and I try to walk what I speak of. But I will never 'force' my beliefs on anyone, and they can come and be as serene as I am, if they have the desire to do so.

5. And I think Buddha and Hammurabi were pretty cool as well...
Many of those from the past can be used to construct a decent society today. It is not all about ONE religion/philosophy, take the best from many and make it work...the world would be a better place...:)

7. I agree
I'm Christian and get so sick and tired of those who abuse religion for their own political gains like *someone* we all know who steals and lies and murders. Ugh. But one thing that really helps me is to know that God will judge them someday. I don't think anybody wants to deal with Him someday who abuses His son like that. All these people proclaim to follow Christ but they're doing everything the wrong way. They're not respecting authority and other people's freedoms. If you read through the gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) Christ never tried to change his government. He tried to change people's hearts and souls where it mattered. When Christ was tempted in the desert Satan offered him all of Ceaser's kingdom but Christ REJECTED IT. And as Christians Christ is our greatest example. All these people think they're so much more holier then I am because they have an (r) after their name are wrong!

9. There are so many points that i could make about these CINO's, but
just their contempt for the poor and downtrodden makes me glad I am nowhere near where these people are. One guy told me in a line one time, "There will always be the poor, Jesus said so". To which I answered, "Yes he did say that, but do there have to be so many of them?". Remember, when we were told that even as you are doing to the least of these, thus you are doing to me. Giving a hungry family food, a jobless person a job or a homeless person a chance is not a 'bad' thing, it is what these people who have $100,000 homes built by faith should be doing...but they don't 'like' that part of the message, so they blame others for being poor and hopeless. They are cruel, indifferent people w/o a soul larger than a shriveled raisin.

The greatest 'sin' is hypocrisy.

2. lets place Christ, and all other deeply loved religious figures
beyond the reach of partisanship.
neither side has any right to use Christ in their argument.
That's just not right.

4. Your first sentence struck me

because I have a Jewish friend who says The Pharisees are getting a bad rap..and she explained it to me but I can't remember what she said so I googled them..

"In general, whereas the Sadducees were conservative, aristocratic monarchists, the Pharisees were eclectic, popular, and more democratic. The Pharisaic position is exemplified by the assertion that "A learned mamzer takes precedence over an ignorant High Priest." (A mamzer is an outcast child born of a forbidden relationship, such as adultery or incest; the word is often, but incorrectly, translated as "illegitimate" or "bastard.")"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharisees

And thanks for this because I think this is one of the most important things that is going on Right Now!..

"At that time Jesus said to the disciples, 'Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but unwardly are revenous wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you wil know them.'" Matt 7:16-21"

What kind of fruit do you think bush is? A stinkberry?

11. Precisely, they preach hate, and the masses that listen are too darn lazy
look something up themselves and see that these people have no idea what they are talking about.

I know of lawyers, doctors, nurses, tax accountants and preachers that are chock full of information on their specialties, but if it is the wrong information, they are going to either kill someone, or make their lives a living hell. One must look for aomeone in any profession, that knows what they are doing...:)
