that they were going to blame it all on the CIA, but slowly but surely they showed how the Bush Administration went public with intelligence that was questionable at best. They showed clips of Bush, Cheney and Rice talking on TV shows with their "mushroom cloud" scare tactics. They tried to cut Powell some slack by saying he was uncomfortable with a lot of it, but in the end he went to the UN and peddled their bull too. If what I saw tonight is not a impeachable offense, I don't know what is.

I can hardly believe this. Sounds like it wasn't scathing as it should have been, but I'll take just about any reporting of the actual truth at this point. Hopefully, some snippets will make Crooks and Liars or somesuch outfit. I'm sure the RW smear machine will be nuts over this one.

Do not have cable so I'm hoping this comes to some kind of video...I've got a fence-sitting relative who might be convinced. Former Republican fiance was converted when the anti-war march on DC happened in 2003 and the media clearly lied about the number of attendees. He realized that we were being decieved and joined me at anti-war rallies later that winter. He believed Shrub was lying then and now believes he and his cabal are completely evil.

Anyway, the documentary "Uncovered: The Whole Truth Behind the War in Iraq" is similar in nature. It's probably at your local Blockbuster is anyone's interested and has not already seen it.

Most telling about the CNN broadcast (strictly going from memory):

"The intelligence community was working under an adminstration that did not enourage skeptism."

"The administration was not interested in the whole truth. They were interested on 'what we have' in order to fit their talking points."

Cherry picking intelligence was often mentioned.

Also very telling was the one intelligence official who quit his position in order to campaign against bush in 2004.

Also one intelligence offical who's name escapes me at the moment (maybe someone can help me out) was assigned to gatehering bin Laden information long before 9/11 and probably knew more about bin Laden than anyone. He was profiled on 60 minutes earlier in the evening. His comment (paraphrasing) was "if bin Laden were Christian, invading Iraq was the best Christmas present we could have given him."

Anyone catch that?
