about support from the US during the 1980's, US complicity with his regime, and very likely some sensitive operations that would prove very embarassing to the Administration.

And they are fighting more for Bin Laden than Saddam. Saddam was a secular leader after all, and these guys are coocoo fr Allah now, judging from the footage I have seen lately of insurgent attacks.
