Here's their latest digest:
News Hounds Media Digest # 45
8/15/05 to 8/21/05
1. Ellen: It's no surprise that FOX News would start smearing Cindy
Sheehan but even we never thought they'd go so low as to take her
remarks out of context and
completely twist their meaning.
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/08/21/fox_news_completely_distorts_cindy_sheehans_comments_take_action.php2. Janie: Howard Dean, head of the DNC, has made many statements over
the course of the last few years, specifically on the War on Iraq. Fox
News attempts to bash Dr. Dean's comments, making them seem
preposterous to their viewers, despite the fact he has consistently
been proven correct. This week on Dayside was no exception. Dean
points out that women in Iraq are losing many of the rights they held
under Saddam Hussein, claiming they very well may have had more rights
under his tyrannical rule. Fox bashes this Dean's comment, despite
segments of the Constitutional draft that have come to light
supporting this statement. Their arguement? At least the women aren't

3. Judy: John Gibson's slimy suggestion on "The Big Story" that the
9/11 Commission ignored information about Able Danger in order to
protect one of its own members was rebutted by an email sent to the
News Hounds by panel member Jamie Gorelick, whom Gibson falsely
accused of enforcing a "wall" keeping intelligence gathering agencies
from sharing information.

pounding away at "the opposition," no matter how low it has to go.
Friday it blamed the huge verdict against Merck in the Texas Vioxx
case on John Edwards.
http://tinyurl.com/def8o5. Nancy: Brit Hume's regular segment, "The Grapevine", is a nasty
and petty mix of opinion & "news tidbits". Last week was no exception.
The NCAA got dissed no matter what it did -- imposing a ban,
reconsidering that ban. And the Vacaville Reporter was approvingly
cited early in the week when Grapevine echoed the right-wing noise
machine about Cindy Sheehan "changing" her mind, but was trashed later
in the week when it tried to set the record straight. I said it before
and I'll say it again: Gee, do ya think there's a pattern here?
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/08/15/whines_from_the_grapevine.php#more6. Chrish: Fox's tabloid king John Gibson distracted his viewers from
the focus of Hillary Clinton's and John McCain's fact-finding trip to
Alaska. The Senators, along with Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lindsey
Graham (R-SC) went to learn first-hand about the effects of global
warming on the environment and people there. Gibson focused his
"smack-down" guests on a "who's using who" political spat and said the
two married Senators appeared to be dating.
http://www.newshounds.us/2005/08/16/john_gibson_says_senators_clinton_and_mccain_are_dating.php#more7. Deborah: Bill O'Reilly spent the week trying to destroy or at
least discredit Cindy Sheehan but he had no luck. No matter what he
did, the support for Sheehan continued to grow and the media was
supportive. Finally, O'Reilly went after the media for treating
Sheehan kindly and bragged that Fox was the media outlet that broke
the story of Sheehan's radical connections.
