My Award-Winning Political Cartoon!

I recently won first prize and $2,500 in a Newsweek political cartooning contest for high school students. This specific cartoon was drawn shortly after the November election, and my bitterness is evident. It also prompted one parent to threaten legal action against the school...
Anyway, a group of four professionals picked mine as the winner, and I wanted to share it with you!

They wanted me off the newspaper staff, for one. They apparently threatened to sue, but I'm guessing they had no grounds for legal actino. Either way, the administration was supportive and they backed down.

My wife and I have plenty of contact with young college students and we're often mortified by how conservative they've become. You give me hope. Keep up the good fight.

My son also does political cartoons, primarily for his own (and his friends) amusement. I've often thought they were good enough to print.

I get Newsweek magazine, but I've never seen this competition.

Was this a local contest? How can I find one in my area in the future.

34. No, it was nationwide

My journalism teacher alerted me to it...got it in one day under deadline, too.
I believe it was announced in one of the Newsweek educational program publications, which are distributed to teachers and schools who subscribe, i guess.
