That's Latin which roughly means "I think, therefore I am." It was said by Rene Descartes, a 17th century French philosopher. I guess he was trying to prove that existence is real, but who knows. After all, the guy was French and probably ate "freedom fries."

I don't mean to get too heavy here, but we all know that Junior doesn't think. Which leaves us with, "I don't think, therefore I ... ?"

Mark Crispin Miller and several others have published psychological profiles of Smirk's disorders. It's also been discussed extensively on DU over the years. One could look at DU's Archives, searching GD for "DSM-IV" and "Narcissistic Personality Disorder" and find some of the threads. It'd be hard to top those threads in today's DU, methinks.

One of the disconnects folks have when the word "narcissism" is used is the false impression that means "self-admiring" and egotistical. The truth is really the opposite. He has no sense of self other than through the reactions of others: his "reflection." He feeds on feedback, not as information but as affirmation of his very existence, without which he's lost. The worst possible punishment for his war crimes would be solitary confinement. That's what I advocate: his own personal Hell. He'd become a gibbering pool of wet feces in less than six months.
