A Toast to Hugo Chavez for Superb Governing
In recent months, and even in the past two or three years, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela has been on a mission. His mission:A unification of the Central and South Americas, both politically and economically. With such a large task for just one man to accomplish, his willingness to do so is insatiable.

Chavez is being viewed as a busy man, making allies with key D.C. enemies such as Fidel Castro, but he isn't making allies for war, but for peace. In exchange for oil, aid and technology, Venezuela sends it's brightest and best for furthing educations and being having inter-cultural experiences.

I sincerely believe, even though the Bush admin views him as a threat, that Chavez is doing good for the region. With his country being a power house in South America, and with his firm leadership I think he can be a uniter in Central,South America, as well as the Carribean. With poverty and instablity a common place affair in this region, there is only one way to go.

1. That's why they hate him
Because he's fighting poverty and not catering to corporate congolmorates.

2. Definitely!
:toast:

Chavez ROCKS! His people are very fortunate to have him!

That would of course be the normal people, the majority, the little people as the rich like to sneeringly call the populace ;)

4. If you live in what is theoretically a republic, as we do,
then collective action is a big threat to people that think they are entitled to rule in their own interest.

5. He has the rabi blancos worried because he's building
a military. There's nothing more that the wealthy of latin America fear more than a leader who bonds with the poor.
