RNC Chair Gillespie: Scandal worse than Watergate
(This might be bending the LBN rules a bit):

Hardball (MSNBC - 9/30/03):

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Don't you think it's more serious than Watergate, when you think about it?

RNC CHAIRMAN ED GILLESPIE: I think if the allegation is true, to reveal the identity of an undercover CIA operative -- it's abhorrent, and it should be a crime, and it is a crime.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: It'd be worse than Watergate, wouldn't it?

GILLESPIE: It's -- Yeah, I suppose in terms of the real world implications of it. It's not just politics.

2. The control freaks are going down
This administration has been noted for their control of everything that comes out of the WH. It has been air tight.

They don't have loose cannons.

Everyone will be suspect.

Sweet justice...fell thy sting!

3. Someone else mentioned this on another thread
Wow! For him to say that makes me think he knows this is serious trouble, and he's the RNC chairman!

8. This bothers me.
Why would Gillespie, who attacks Democrats every chance he gets, admit to even the possibility of the * White House doing something wrong? I LOVE how this story has not only grown legs but is running the Boston Marathon right now, but the willingness of Gillespie to just capitulate like this baffles me. And whenever the actions of a Repuke baffle me, I know there's evil afoot.

12. If this probe fizzle's- Karl Rove is a dead man.
That is not a threat- merely a prediction. Do you really think some of the more rambunctious cowboy's running out of Operations are going to sit back and let that pastey bastard Rove stick it to a fellow Intelligence Case Officer?

There will be no place to hide- and I swear to God it will look as natural a death as you could want.

14. I don't care how dumb, imcompetant, ignorant or out of touch
anyone believes the *moron is to the revalation of this latest national news, there is no way, NO WAY!
he did not know and approve of the machinations of the outing of Plame.

I was a young boy when John Kennedy was assassinated, and a teen when Robert was taken. I was supposedly an adult when Watergate was gripping this nation, and this story has alllll the legs Watergate did then and then some...
I've learned so much in that passage of time, and if this crime, this story does not begin to stop the madness we have been experiencing since 2000, i don't know much more that can.

it's worse than Watergate. We've all grown wiser, sadder, and madder...this is the tipping point. The payback is coming.

my last 2 coppers,
and peace.
