"Karl Rove said Wilson's wife is fair game."
I know there are already a million of these posts, but I thought this quote from Ambassador Wilson was interesting. He was just interviewed on Capital Report and said that this is what one of the reporters who contacted him told him that Rove had said. The plot thickens.

19. Yeah, do you believe this shit?
His wife is fair game because he DARED to tell the truth about what he found in Niger? Because he disproved the Bushies' lies? Because he dared to contradict them in public?

3. You're kidding!
Can we get verification that Rove said that? Is it just rumor, or is there a witness willing to come forward?

5. there may be...
Wilson confirmed somebody told him that, I suppose he knows and can call on him at the appropriate time.

6. Apparently this is why Wilson talked Rove weeks ago.
He said that a reporter told him that "Karl Rove said Wilson's wife is fair game."

7. Would this be admissible in court?
I'm wondering (and I'm not a laywer), but would this qualify as "hearsay", and hence not be evidence. We know that the reporter is not going to come forward and expose a source.

Who knows? Maybe there's a John Dean in the Bush Administration ready to come forward, and go on the record.

8. I don't think so.
The reporter would have to go on record. Also, that particular statement is not a crime.

12. True, the statement is not a crime...

...but just documenting Rove's statement cooks his butt quite nicely in political terms.

9. they are already at war in the white house, some people are saying
there are camps at each other's throats.

Did CBS just say that Asscroft sent a letter to the white house
asking preservation on Amb. Wilson, his emails, etc. on Niger and
any dealing with three reporters he talked to?!?!

Are they going after HIM!!!!!?!?!?!?

I hate this country some times. It didn't take us long to go from
smug We'd-never-become-Nazis to this.

16. it would be admissible in court
but would be given little or no weight unless there is corroborating evidence to support it.

13. "fair game" - what, is Rove a scientologist?
"ENEMY - SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."

No escaping for Rove. Even if the Crime Family whitewashes this, I suspect the spooks might have ways of seeking justice.

17. even the mafia recognizes family as civilians, but not the busheviks
it is indicative of the depths these evil-doers will go to in seeking revenge.

there is more honor amongst thieves than in those working in the white house.

What makes this so despicable is that they didn't go after Wilson, they went after his wife. Big mistake. Have they forgotten how many men have wives in this country?

20. That's what makes this whole sordid mess
so unbelievable. What, does Rove think he's accountable to no one? how else can you explain that he went after not only Ambassador Wilson but also his wife. Let's not forget: he also included the CIA when he declared war on that couple. Because the CIA needs to have some loyalty to its own, for its own survival.

We've already seen what Cobra-leeza did to George Tenet earlier this summer. A great quote: "you declare war with the CIA at your peril". I guess they meant it.

If Rove did this, he must be mentally unbalanced or have some kind of personality disorder. Hard to tell what. Even the greatest of fools will back off at some point. Apparently not Karl. (Don Quijote)

23. Bob Woodward must be eating his heart out
having thrown in his lot with the Bushistas. He thought he'd hit it big writing about "our popular war leader president." There goes his new book.
