http://www.wave3.com/Global/story.asp?S=3752242(SEATTLE) -- Federal agents on Monday arrested a man who allegedly threatened to blow up the downtown office of the Department of Veterans Affairs because the agency had denied his claim for benefits.
Charles M. Whitaker, 53, was being held for investigation of threatening to bomb or damage property.
"Whether this man would have carried out his threats is uncertain, but we cannot afford to take chances," said Ian Canaan of the Federal Protective Service, a division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement that provides security at federal buildings.
Authorities said officers found field manuals on bomb-making, booby traps and military explosives at Whitaker's residence, along with narcotics, and two semiautomatic pistols and ammunition at a storage unit.
Wonder why his claim was denied? Wouldn't have to do with the Propagandist and his administration cutting veterans' benefits, would it?
