A Little Help about Randi Rhodes
I have had more then one enemy of freedom(repub) claim that Randi Rhodes has advocated killing the president on the air? Is there any truth to this whatsoever? This came up after that RW moron in DC got fired for saying we are at war with Islam.

6. RWers can come up with an infinite number of unsubstantiated accusations.
If you ACCEPT the obligation to DISPROVE their crap instead of insisting that they prove their position, it's a total no win situation. A game you can't win.

2. Old story... no truth to it...
Edited on Mon Aug-22-05 10:26 PM by KyndCulture
It was a bit she did that had a gunshot in it... she did not say anything about killing the president... it was in poor taste she admitted, it wasn't her voice and it was basically a bad joke that the freepers took to the extreme. She NEVER said she wanted to kill the president nor did the person who recorded the bit.

5. Actually
Randi didn't do the bit, one of her production folks did it, and she was really pissed when she heard it. She was very clear that she did not advocate killing the president, and does not tolerate that kind of stuff. She was very clear to the staff they had better not do anything like that again. And, she apologized on air for the bit because even if she didn't do it, it was on her show, and for her, the buck stops at her desk. Too bad the pretzeldent can't take a cue from her!

12. Also the Secret Service did investigate
and nothing came of it. So that has to tell you something. If they could have prosecuted her for threatening the Pres they would have in a heartbeat.

It's the same old thing. Keep repeating a lie long enough and it takes on the semblance of truth.

4. Some questions are too stupid to answer
Ignore whoever is asking them. If impossible, point out that the SS would've taken her away if she'd said any such thing. :eyes:

They have archives of her show. I don't know when the segment played, but it was this year.

8. She was joking
It was a comedy skit for crying out loud! It was some skit where the president had ticked off so many old people that they were marching on DC with pitchforks or something. I can't remember the whole thing but I knew it was a joke right off the bat. Anyone listening would have had to know it was pure comedy but you know how the RW have to contort the truth.

10. No. In fact Randi is always careful to point out
that she would never advocate such a thing.

11. remember when jesse helms
said that Clinton had better "watch his back" or something like that? He said that when Clinton was coming to helms' home state of North Carolina. I am sure that can be corroborated. When a repug threatens the president, the sheep have no problem with it.
