Switzerland has never had anything like this happen before. Luzern (Lucerne) is in acute danger, Bern is partly under water, people are trying to protect historical buildings with sandbags, the Thuner Lake is 70 cm (27.5 inches) over flood stage, rivers in central Switzerland have overflowed their banks, roads are washed out, bridges are unsafe, the towns Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen have been completely cut off, thousands of people have been evacuated.

(edit)
A related article ( http://portale.web.de/Reise/Wetter_News/msg/5935879/ ) says that the flooding problems also affect Bavaria and Austria, with the Garmisch-Partenkirchen region in Bavaria and parts of the Vorarlberg region in Austria totally cut off, regional emergency services overwhelmed, and a state of catastrophic emergency declared.

3. Here in Indiana we are getting just enough rain to keep the grass
green and the weeds growing. Our creeks are dried up and we are in one of the worst droughts I have seen since I moved here in 1976.
