Shouldn't the FCC revoke Robertson's broadcasting license?
and shouldn't charges be brought against him for advocating the violent overthrow of a democratically elected leader?

What Robertson said yesterday is an outrage. It is also a criminal act. If Robertson wasn't a Bush insider, his ass would be in jail right now, where it belongs.

Last year the FCC went nuts because Janet Jackson flashed a little tit. Yet Robertson can tell his followers that it's a good idea to assassinate world leaders and they don't even notice.

Time to flood the FCC with complaints. Robertson's license should be revoked. And in the meantime, maybe the FBI or Homeland Security would like to investigate this incident?

1. Good idea. Revoking the license. Maybe you could get Skinner
to sponsor a letter by the DU Corps to the FCC.

2. The FCC was flooded with complaints about Janet's breast
from the right wing group, the Parents Television Council. They will never turn on Pat Robertson.

3. He's cable in my area,
which gives him some leeway. But I think in a lot of places, he is over the air. Could work.

4. WHAT license?
Robertson owns no over-the-air Teeee-Veeee stations.
His "700 Klubben" is carried on his cable network that is not under FCC jurisdiction and is sold to stations across the country.

He sold his station in Portsmouth many years ago in order to get out of reach of the FCC.

9. But what about CBN?
Even though Robertson's show is carried on cable, he still owns one of the biggest broadcasting empires in the country.

Aren't broadcasters subject to some oversight?

11. Not by the FCC.
He is not a "Broadcaster", he is a supplier of programming.
Look at it like this, does the FCC have jurisdiction over the NFL? Aaron Spelling's production company? MTM? DesiLu? No, they don't.

When we all got "treated" to the sight of Janet's boobie, it wasn't the NFL, who was sponsoring the show, who got ripped-off by Mikey Powell, hell, it wasn't even the network, but the individual STATIONS that got hammered.

He owns no over-the-air stations, thus the FCC has no control over him. Their recourse would be against stations who carried the "700 Klub".

6. I don't think the FCC can do anything if he's on cable
because it's privately owned air, not publicly owned air (like networks are). Law enforcement authorities however, may be interested.

7. Q: What licenses, if any, are required to operate a sattelite uplink?
If this requires a license, then his should be attacked. He should not be using the airwaves for the purposes of distribution of his criminal activiy.

10. Since they didn't care when he prayed for the death of SC Justices...
...Why would they do anything now?

This isn't the first time that Mullah Robertson released a fatwa, after all.

12. DAMN GOOD QUESTION!!! Let's start a movement. i say YES!!
If a Liberal talk show host had called for the assassination of one of our allies, I am sure the FCC would revoke the license.
